Our Approach
Why
AxonTorq
MECHANICAL ELECTRONICS AI AxonTorq ZONE

Most firms operate in silos. We were built at the intersection. Our team holds proven depth in mechanics and electronics, with applied AI as an active research focus we're building alongside them — nothing is lost in translation between disciplines.

Start a project
A01
Cross-Domain Fluency

We speak mechanics, electronics, and software natively. No handoff friction between disciplines.

A02
Physical-First AI (R&D)

AI is an active exploration area for us, approached the same way as our delivered work — designed from day one for real-world deployment, robust to noise, latency, and environmental variance rather than clean lab data.

A03
Novel By Default

We pursue problems without existing solutions. First-principles thinking is our default mode.

A04
Full-Stack Delivery

From concept sketch to deployed system — we own the full stack and the full timeline.

How We Work
From First Call To Deployed System
STAGE 01
Scope
A free call to understand the problem, the constraints, and whether we're the right fit. You leave with a written brief either way.
STAGE 02
Architect
We design the system across all three domains at once — mechanics, electronics, and software decided together, not handed between teams.
STAGE 03
Prototype
Working hardware in your hands early. We test against the real environment, not a spec sheet, and iterate on what the data shows.
STAGE 04
Deploy
Production readiness, documentation, and handover — plus ongoing support if you want us to stay on past launch.

Food Science / Biomechanics ORAL PROCESSING RIG
CASE 01

Laboratory-Scale Chewing System for Oral Processing Studies

Confidential collaboration · Food science / biomechanics research programme

Designed and built a bench-scale mechanism that reproduces human chewing kinematics and bite-force patterns, giving researchers a repeatable, instrumented way to study how food breaks down during oral processing — without relying on human test panels for every trial.

Marine / Heavy Machinery RING WEAR · SPECTRAL SCAN
CASE 02

Remote Surface & Spectral Analysis for Marine Engine Ring Maintenance

Confidential client · Marine / heavy engine operator

Built an image-processing and surface spectral-analysis pipeline that lets engineers assess piston and liner ring wear condition from captured scans — without pulling the engine apart or sending a specialist on-site.

CASE 03

Equalising Support Redesign for a Seven-Tonne Rotating Drum

Confidential client · Heavy process equipment operator

Diagnosed two distinct failure modes on a large rotating drum's roller supports — intermittent contact loss and progressive axial drift — and replaced the rigid mounts with a self-levelling mechanism and dedicated axial restraint. Fabricated, installed, and now in service.

We haven't shipped a client AI deployment yet — it's a deliberate, active area of research and development alongside our mechanical and electronics work. If that's what you're exploring, we'd like to hear about it.

Target Sectors
Where We Operate
Industrial Automation & Robotics
Production lines, material handling, and custom robotic systems — manipulators, end effectors, and drive systems built for the task rather than adapted to it.
Energy Systems
Power electronics, storage control, and monitoring for generation and distribution assets.
Field & Autonomous Robotics
Autonomous and remotely-operated machines built for the field — dust, vibration, patchy connectivity, and environments where reliability can't be compromised.
Medical Devices
Precision mechanisms and embedded systems where tolerance and traceability matter.
Special Purpose Machines & Systems
Bespoke machines and systems engineered for a single process or product — where no catalogue supplier's equipment fits the job.
Custom Testing Equipment & Experimental Systems
Purpose-built rigs, fixtures, and experimental apparatus for research and validation — when the test itself needs engineering before the product can be.
